SAMANTHA CURLEY & CHELSEA MCINTURFF
LOS ANGELES, CA
CO-FOUNDERS, LEVEL GROUND
Chelsea and Samantha are the co-founders and co-directors of Level Ground. They met while studying Theology and Art at Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California. Chelsea is a gay Christian from a socially and politically conservative family, while Samantha is a straight Christian from a liberal and non-religious family. In the midst of their seemingly unique friendship, they found themselves creating spaces for people to dialogue with one another by modeling how to value relationships over ideology. Thus Level Ground was formed.
Level Ground creates space for dialogue about faith, gender, and sexuality through the arts and festival programming. Their hope is to cultivate a better way of speaking with one another across our differences and disagreements. Level Ground is becoming a national innovator in film festival programming, art curation, and dialogue. Level Ground believes safe space is integral for transforming how we see each other and create a world of peace and civility together. Learn more at onlevelground.org.
