SAN DIEGO, CA
CO-FOUNDER AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, A NOTE TO MY KID
Patrick Wallace is a native Texan who grew up in sunny San Diego, CA with two loving parents and an incredible, slightly-older sister and a significantly cooler younger brother. For more than a decade he has been practicing public relations focusing on technology, healthcare and lifestyle companies. Beginning in May 2011, he became the Co-Founder and Executive Director of A Note to My Kid – a labor of love he dreamed up one morning and brought to fruition with co-founders, Mike Curry and Michael Volpatt, that makes him literally bounce out of bed daily with a smile. He is also a guest blogger for The Huffington Post where he strives to tell unique and inspirational stories about gay life.
In January 2012, he joined the San Diego Unified School District's "Safe Schools Task Force" – an organization designed to make school life a positive experience for members of the LGBTQ community. Inspired by the love and the encouragement of his parents, family and friends, he continues to do whatever he can to make a positive difference in the lives of LGBTQ people and the people who love them.
One of his greatest hopes is that A Note to My Kid will help create impenetrable support systems for members of the LGBTQ community so that if bullied it simply won't hurt as much because of the love and support they have been given. He also hopes A Note to My Kid will give parents, family and friends the opportunity to learn from some of the notes, videos and photos shared on the site so – if at a loss for words – they might find the inspiration needed to have what could be the most positive, life-changing conversation of their lives.
