FOUNDER, ALPHA K9
Kevin Cameron is a Sacramento, California native with an inspiring story of hope. Kevin is the founder of Alpha K9, an organization that trains service dogs to assist veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). After his brother was diagnosed with severe PTSD, Kevin witnessed firsthand the lack of resources for treatment, including the shortage of and prohibitive costs of securing service dogs. Kevin, who also ran the K9 program for the Army in Washington State, created Alpha K9 to ensure that veterans in need could have access to lifesaving, affordable service dogs. Through Alpha K9, he trains approximately 200 service dogs every year, providing them to veterans at low to no cost. He also provides the dogs to first responders, battered women and children. Additionally, Kevin employs wounded and disabled veterans, helping them to transition into civilian life after serving in the military. With more than 10.6 million veterans living with PTSD, Kevin’s efforts are meeting a real need. This highly decorated combat veteran has dedicated his life to serving his country and supporting his community, and he continues to inspire through the Alpha K9 organization.
