BRIGHT HOUSE NETWORKS
CLEARWATER, FL
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, YMCA OF THE SUNCOAST - HIGH POINT BRANCH

George serves as Executive Director for the YMCA of the Suncoast – High Point Branch in Clearwater, Florida. He grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee while serving as Program Director for the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee. Most of his career has been working with inner-city youth and providing youth diversion programs and activities. After his seven-year career as Program Director, George decided it was time for a change of scenery and weather and moved to sunny Clearwater, Florida where he began working for the YMCA of the Suncoast - High Point Branch in 2001.

At the High Point Branch, George provides leadership of programs and services for families that are less fortunate and whose children are at-risk, but George likes to consider the children at-potential. In addition to his YMCA family service, he attends New Destiny Apostolic Church in Clearwater, sits on the School Advisory Committee, and is active in Rotary and Hispanic Leadership Council of Clearwater. George's recent excitement and passion is engaged in a new innovative program that is helping Hispanic and Latino families learn how to live healthier lives and meet their health and wellness goals. The program is called Salsa, Sabor y Salud and is offered in collaboration with the YUSA and the National Latino Children's Institute. Salsa, Sabor y Salud program is a diabetes prevention strategy for area Latino families, targeting obesity, a major risk factor for diabetes. He believes it is a great way to welcome new families to healthy living at the YMCA. George currently resides in Clearwater with his wife Boby, their five children, and his first grandson. He can be contacted at the High Point Branch YMCA.
