Ernesto Quiñonez was heralded by The Village Voice as a “writer on the verge.”

His debut novel “Bodega Dreams” (Vintage Contemporary Originals) was chosen as a Barnes & Nobles “Discover Great New Writers,” Borders “Original Voices,” Entertainment Weekly’s IT List, the New York Public Library’s “25 Books to Remember,” as well as a Los Angeles Times and a New York Times “Notable Books of the Year.” “Bodega Dreams” has become a landmark in contemporary literature, as required reading in many high schools and community colleges around the country. The New York Times chose it as a “New Immigrant Classic.” He has received fellowships from the Wesleyan Writers Conference, the Breadloaf Writer’s Conference, and the Sundance Screenwriters Lab in Sundance, Utah. He is currently an assistant professor at Cornell University.
