Army Lieutenant Dan Choi is a West Point Graduate and Arabic Linguist who served in Iraq as an infantry officer, translator and reconstruction engineer.
When he came home from combat, he fell in love for the very first time and decided to come out, defying the military’s “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” policy. He has become a leading voice in the struggle for gay civil rights and refuses to back down when he sees a good fight. He was arrested three times at the White House in protest of military discrimination and continues to speak up loudly for those who cannot yet speak for themselves. Dan, originally from Orange County, CA, is the son of a Southern Baptist Minister.
