American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD)
AAPD works to promote fairness and equality for all children and adults with disabilities in the United States through its public policy advocacy and organizing activities. AAPD also helps promote career development for people with disabilities, helps companies assess their disability outreach and awareness within their workforce and customer base, and helps support people with disabilities and their families to worship without barriers in their congregations through the organization’s various programs. AAPD leads efforts to make internet-based and voting technologies more accessible across the nation. In the last Congress, AAPD spearheaded a successful effort to restore protections under the Americans with Disabilities Act for millions of Americans with epilepsy, diabetes, depression, cancer and other conditions whose rights had been undermined by a series of court decisions.
